Yenilenebilir Enerji Tüketimi ve Karbon Emisyonu İlişkisi: OECD Ülkeleri Örneği

Özet

Çalışmanın amacı yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminin karbon emisyonu (CO2) üzerindeki etkilerini ve Çevresel Kuznet Eğrisi (ÇKE) hipotezinin geçerliliğini 37 tane OECD ülkesi için 2002-2014 yılları arasında ölçmektir.Çalışmada dinamik panel veri modellerinden olan bir aşamalı sistem Genelleştirilmiş Momentler Yöntemi kullanılmıştır.Yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminin karbon emisyonunu üzerinde negatif bir etkiye sahip olduğu istatistiki olarak kanıtlanmıştır. Bunun dışında, GSYH ’da meydana gelen artış karbon emisyonunu artırırken, GSYH’nin karesinde meydana gelen artış karbon emisyonunu azaltmaktadır. Bu ise bize, çalışmaya dâhil edilen 37 OECD ülkesinde ÇKE hipotezinin geçerli olduğunu göstermektedir. Kontrol değişkenlerine bakıldığında ise, Fiziki Yatırımların karbon emisyonunu pozitif yönde etkilediği, Dışa Açıklığın karbon emisyonunu negatif yönde etkilediği ampirik olarak ispatlanmıştır.
