SADIK YALSIZUÇANLAR VE “ÜSTAD: NUR’DAN BİR DEM” ROMANINDA YAZAR ESER İLİŞKİSİ

Abstract

Sadık Yalsızuçanlar has produced works in many genres such as novels, stories, narratives and essays. His novels and stories have a postmodern and surrealist feature. One of the most important features of his novels is that he includes his own life and the lives of those around him. His mother, father, himself, his sister, brother and close relatives are often the subject of his novels.

Yalsızuçanlar also includes many mystical elements in his novels. It deals with the great Sufis such as Mevlâna, Yunus Emre Muhyiddin İbnü’l-Arabî, Imam-i Rabbani. Ustad: A Dem from Nur is a novel that tells about the author's own youth and mystical development. He tells about his grandmother, grandfather, father, mother, siblings, aunts and uncles through himself. Especially in the beginning of the novel, these close relatives take up a lot of space.

The novel begins with Cemil/Sadık Yalsızuçanlar, who is 47 years old and writing at his desk, when he hears about his uncle's death. With this news, Cemil starts to remember his old days and write them down. First, the grandfather, grandmother, father and the people in the family are told. There are always fights and problems at home. Cemil looks for ways to escape from these unrests. First, he becomes lovers with his high school sweetheart, Nigar. Later, he finds his Master through Lieutenant Muhammet Hodja.

His whole life changes after he starts reading the Master's works. He starts going to a house where books are read. He even stays there on holidays. He leaves Nigar. He now devoted himself to reading. As you read, a spiritual bond forms between you and the Master.

The novel continues with flashbacks and memories. He identified with Cemil Ustad. Now he sees her even in his dreams. He goes to Ankara to study at university. He reads constantly wherever he stays. His father and mother are dead. However, his spiritual bond with his Master continues unabated. The novel is an autobiographical work in which the author writes about himself and his environment.
